My favorite blog posts to read from others are “Favorite Finds” or “Things I’m loving” posts. I can’t tell you how many things I have or use on a daily basis I “found” through other blogger’s recommendations. So I figured why not share my recent favorites discoveries and loves with y’all too? These are things I’m totally sharing with each of my girlfriends so it just makes sense I will share with you too!
First up– “Be Held: Lullabies for the Beloved” by Christy Nockles
This album has been on repeat on Spotify for me basically the entire month. The songs are so sweet and very hymn like- but the words! The words are the best. They are deep and raw with truth woven in every note. They have become something of prayers for me as I listen to them in the evenings. It would be great for little ones of course, but the melodies are soothing for my heart too. My favorite songs are In the Whisper and Head to Toe.
I have become a bit of a Jess fan girl lately. Her first book, Wild and Free wrecked me in such a profound way and I have kept this pretty pink book on my nightstand since it was released. It seems Jess has spoken at a couple different retreats, groups and I have been able to catch the live streams. I always intend to listen to them while cleaning but it never fails that I end up sitting down simultaneously cheering with her and sobbing. Look her up. Her challenge to speak life over others and to “welcome well” is something I actually have in my Powersheets as a daily goal for myself for November. I love the way she explains the power of our words and reminding me that a simple greeting and pause to acknowledge others with a “Hey- you’re the girl for the job” can drastically change a day.
Switching gears some- I am planning and prepping for my Christmas turnover. I look forward to the planning of the holiday seasons but sometimes I just have to get it all out. of. my. Head. You know what I mean?! I need to write it all down- the meals, the gift list, the decorations and things I need to do. ENTER One Swell Christmas Keepsake Planner. I’ve convinced myself before that Christmas isn’t that crazy for me because I don’t have kids but holy moley the amount of stuff and things I still have to keep track of is insane. This adorable planner is for reigning in all that Christmas chaos. I am so excited to have a little planning session to get it all down on paper and then to JOYFULLY execute the holidays!
Also- when this gorgeousness showed up in my mailbox, I squealed! How pretty is Cara’s packaging and handlettering my name!?! All the heart eyes of both beauty and function!
On the Christmas note: This Mudpie serving dish was made for me! It’s not really a holiday for me until I have green bean casserole. I love all Mudpie’s serving pieces- in fact I registered for some for my wedding even! I think the styles are classic and simple enough to use through the years, but they are just a tad whimsical which makes my heart happy.
While this may seem a bit random for a current fave–I’ve changed up my laundry routine and it makes me so happy…. well as happy as I can be having to do laundry! I don’t separate anymore, except for true whites, and it all gets washed together. I always wash on cold but I realized that 99% of our laundry were darks/blues anyways so that time spent separating and juggling the different loads was a waste. I do have Shout color catchers that I toss in if I’m worried about colors bleeding but so far so good. Anything to save me just even a few seconds of time (and my sanity!) is totally worth it in my book. I also have stop matching socks and rolling them. I have a basket that sits right next to the dryer that I toss them all in as I pull the laundry out. I figured we grab the socks anyways and unroll them to put them on, so what’s the point of doing that in the first place? I think we get stuck in our mindset of always doing something a certain way that we forget to look for faster more efficient ways to do things. Plus it completely gets rid of the “lost sock” dilemma. That’s a win in my book.
So there you go- a little all over the place but these are just some current things that I am loving and making me happy. Now it’s your turn–Share with me something you are loving this month!
